Whether you drive to Cooke City via the Chief Joseph Highway or the Beartooth Scenic Byway the scenic views are spectacular. Cooke City is the smallest gateway community, located 4 miles from the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park at an elevation of about 8000'.  During the winter, the area has over 60 miles of snowmobile trails. In the summer, the area makes a great layover to visit the wildlife of Yellowstone National Park.
